Shuffle Star

A mini tarot-like game where you and Cardly build your hands and see what fortune Cardly delivers. Play for fun, or interpret your cards as a playful divination spread.

Gameplay

First, you will build a hand for yourself and give cards to Cardly, creating a mini “Cardly spread.”

1. Draw 3 cards from the deck.
2. Look at one of these cards. You may choose to keep it or discard it back into the deck.
3. Give one of the other 2 hidden cards to Cardly (face-down).
4. Shuffle any remaining cards back into the draw pile.
5. Repeat until only 2 cards remain. Give 1 card to yourself and 1 card to Cardly.

Rules:

• You cannot give the card you looked at to Cardly.
• If you see the same card twice while drawing, you must keep it.
• By the end, you and Cardly each have 4 cards.

Cardly’s Effect

Smile (Joker): Swap the top cards from both hands.

Blank (Jack): Discard the top card from your hand.

Star (King): Lucky Day! Reveal one hidden card from each hand. Choose whether to swap them or not.

Retrograde (Queen): The stars weren’t aligned. Restart the deal.

Any Suit: This card becomes part of your hand.

End of Game & Scoring

Assign points to each card in your hand to calculate your score:

• Suit Cards: +1 point each
  • Suit Set Bonus: +1 point with all 4 suits in your hand.
• Star: +2 points
• Smile: +1 point
• Blank: 0 points
• Retrograde: -1 point

Score Meanings

1 - Caution / Confusion: Challenges and disruption dominate.

2 - Minor Luck: Small opportunities appear.

3 - Neutral / Steady: Things are balanced.

4 - Favorable: Positive momentum.

5 - Lucky / Inspired: Luck and insight align.

6 - Excellent: Very favorable outcomes.

7 - Magical: Everything is on your side!

Sound is disabled on the browser version due to a memory leak I can't figure out.
